Mill celebrates British Pie Week with Tom's Pies

Otterton Mill is supporting British Pie Week this Saturday with free tastings of the award-winning Tom's Pies. A representative of Tom's Pies will be at the Mill's Devon Food Shop on Saturday 6th March from 11:00am to 3:00pm to meet and chat to customers about its products.

"We are delighted to be celebrating Pie Week with Tom's Pies. Since we started retailing the pies in our shop 6 months ago, they have become one of our best selling ranges. We now have regular customers who come to the Mill just to buy the pies", said Simon Spiller who runs the Mill with wife Caroline. Produced by hand in Clyst St Mary, near Exeter, Tom's pies are pretty special. The best ingredients, sourced locally, are combined in mouth-watering fillings which are packed into a delicious, buttered short-crust pastry. Some of the novel flavours on offer include Steak, pot-roasted carrot and pickled walnut; Lamb, chickpea and chorizo (both of which have won Gold Taste of the West awards); Chicken and leek with lemon thyme; Teign Valley venison, butternut squash, caramelised red onion and juniper berries and Ham hock and pea. Vegetarians can choose from Mushroom, spinach, hazelnuts and white truffle oil or Mixed bean in a fennel sauce.

"It's no surprise to us that Tom's Pies now have such a strong name in the South West after only 5 years in business. The quality of the product speaks for itself" added Simon.
