Mill celebrates the natural world in art

The Mill's current Gallery exhibition celebrates the natural world in and around the South West, as it showcases five West Country artists who depict and are inspired by plant-life in its various forms.  The exhibition ties in with the changing of the seasons, as nature comes alive after one of the harshest winters in 50 years.  The exhibition's theme continues a successful series at the Mill, inspired by the natural world and environment in and around the South West.

Exhibitors include: Print-maker Alison Everall, who uses monoprint techniques to create images of seed heads and leaves; fine art photographer Kimberly Rainford who produces close-up digital images characterised by vibrant colours and a clean, fresh style; Janine Partington who creates stunning pictures using enamelled copper and inspired by the natural world; collage artist Susan Sloan who is exhibiting part of a body of work incorporating the delicate, dried leaves of the Magnolia tree; and ceramicist Gillian Acreman who is showing a range of stoneware bowls and vases inspired by the wild plants and natural colours of the countryside surrounding her Somerset pottery studio.

Otterton Mill owner Caroline Spiller said "We are delighted once again to host such a beautiful range of work from a group of outstanding local artists. The work captures different aspects of the natural world in all its glory, and, as ever, reflects the wealth of creative talent that is found within the South West and which we are proud to champion at the Mill."

The exhibition runs daily to Monday 7th June. Entry is free.
