Mill Scoops Gold!

Mill Scoops Gold!

The team at Otterton Mill are celebrating the achievement of another award.  Just weeks after The Guardian called Otterton Mill "The place to hang-out near Budleigh Salterton: a restaurant, café, gallery and music venue extraordinaire", the Mill's café-restaurant has been awarded Gold by Taste of the West in its hospitality category.

"This Gold award is the latest in quite a long line of awards and accolades achieved by the Mill for the local sourcing practices employed across all of our businesses" said Simon Spiller, co-owner with wife Caroline.  "We are especially thrilled with this award because it is the first time we've put our café-restaurant forward for an award.  Achieving Gold on our first try is fantastic and a testimony to the hard work and talent of our restaurant team" he added.

The Taste of the West awards have become the recognised industry accolade for quality food production, retail and hospitality in the South West.   As only one of two Gold winners in the café/tearoom sub-category, Otterton Mill will also be put forward as a candidate for Taste of the West's South West Regional title and the South West Excellence Awards, run by South West Tourism.
