A Sad Farewell to Rosie

Sadly, one of our hens died recently.  Rosie passed away from natural causes, and so we are left with four girls.  The hens are all rescued ex-batteries, and survived a year in a cage with a floor area no larger than an A4 sheet of paper.  They arrived to their new life of free-range living at the Mill in October last year, only to be caught up in the flooding which ravaged the Mill site and buildings and left us closed for a month.  The girls had to be rescued from their hen-house by the RSPCA on the morning following the flood, and became minor celebrities for a short time in the local press!  Since their return to the Mill earlier this year, they have been thriving in their new enclosure and are extremely popular with our customers of all ages.
