Tuesday 16th November 2010
Come and make a unique and beautiful stained glass mosaic topped trivet/pot stand with glass artist Amy McCarthy. Perfect for brightening up your dinner table or to give as an original Christmas gift!
You will be provided with an edged, wooden base to top with small shards and squares of stained glass, in every colour under the rainbow! Amy will be on hand to help you create a design, show you how to glue the glass to the base and then grout your finished piece. No previous experience or particular artistic skills required, just a love of colour and a sense of fun!
Amy uses recycled waste stained glass to create her mosaics and will show you how to fit together all the small randomly shaped pieces of glass and the glass and wood used for this workshop is all recycled.
Amy McCarthy is a glass and mixed media artist working from her Exeter studio. As well as bespoke commissions and exhibiting around the South West, Amy writes a regular column on ‘how to make' Eco crafts for www.creativecrafting.com. Having started her career as art co-ordinator in a centre for mentally ill adults, Amy has a wealth of experience encouraging creativity out of people, with great results!
The workshop will run on Tuesday 16th November between 6:30pm to 9pm in the Mill's upstairs restaurant. Places cost £30 (includes all materials). To book, please call 01395 568521, or visit our craft shop in the Mill building.
