Tuesday 14th February 2012
We are expanding our range of Bakery Courses to include speciality bread making. On Tuesday 14th February, we are running a Sour Dough and Soda Bread Making course.
The course teaches the principles of sour dough and soda bread making techniques and is taught by our master Head Baker, Roy Hamilton. The course will cover mixing, fermentation, cutting and scaling, hand moulding, proving and oven baking. These techniques will be used to bake three sour dough and three soda bread loaves, using organic strong white flour and our own stone ground wholemeal flour, milled here on site.
It is a very hands-on and practical session and, you will spend most of the time baking. The theory behind the techniques will be covered by Roy as you bake, allowing plenty of time for your questions along the way. You'll also take home the loaves you make to enjoy at home!
Timing and Cost: The course costs £55, which includes all ingredients and also a lunch of homemade Mill soup, enjoyed with a slice of your own, freshly baked soda bread!
Pre-booking is essential. If you would like to book a place on this course please call 01395 To book your place, please call 01395 568521.
