
Our food courses and demonstrations are very popular, whether at the Mill or at food festivals and events across the South West Region. In this section we share some of the most popular demonstrations by chef Ed, baker Roy and others at the Mill.
Demo 1: Festive Squirrel
Ed achieved national and international attention after serving Grey Squirrel Kebabs at our Apple and Game Day in 2008. The kebabs featured on the menu in order to highlight the plight of the UK's indigenous red squirrel, currently under threat from its American grey cousin. This Radio Devon clip, recorded in December 2008, features Ed preparing a festive squirrel dish.
Demo 2: Ed Cooks Pigeon
In this demo Ed demonstrates how to turn a feathered bird into a delicious dish in a matter of minutes. In season game meat features on the menu at the Mill regularly because it tastes great, is very nutritious and is as free range as it gets!
