Join us for the Mill's ever-popular annual fair. This year, it's bigger and better with a whole range of activities to suit the whole family and anyone who appreciates country living.
The restaurant will offer a number of dishes featuring apples (of course!) and a range of game meats to include pigeon, partridge, rabbit, pheasant, venison and wild boar. The food shop will also offer seasonal breads and cakes.
Other attractions include:
- Artisan food and drink stalls from a number of local producers, offering tastings and expert insights
- Game meat BBQ
- Bushcraft demonstrations with our resident expert Chris Holland
- Wild food foraging, also with Chris
- Game bird plucking/skinning demonstations
- Game cooking demonstrations with Executive Chef, Ed Chester
- Traditional apple pressing with Gordon Hill of Bowhayes Farm
- Toffee apple making
- Apple bobbing - a fun competition for all ages
- Apple spiral baking demonstration with Head Baker, Roy Hamilton
- Forest school activities, to include badge making for children
- Anglo saxon forging with real anglo saxons from the Edcott Saxon Village at Escot Park
All of the above takes place between 11am to 4pm, and entry is free.
