Idle Theme Theatre Company
The Idle Theme Theatre Company was formed in 2009 by local actor/director Alec Fellows-Bennett to create theatre for often unusual theatrical spaces, bringing captivating stories and drama to a wide range of local theatres, gardens and historic buildings.
Common to all of its performances is the aim to bring each venue to life as part of the production, whether that may be through re-imaging classic plays and stories or creating entirely new works for the spaces in which the plays are performed. The Company emphasises clear storytelling in all of its productions, borrowing from the early modern stagecraft of the very first touring companies and mixing this with modern performance styles to create engaging theatre.
The company has previously performed The Importance of Being Earnest, and An Ideal Husband at the Mill. Alec has also given solo performances at our dinner theatre events, including Ghost Stories, A Burns Night with a Twist, and An Evening with Noel Coward. All of the shows have been sell-outs.
