Ottertonmill restaurant is open seven days a week, throughout the year, and is dedicated to the fine art of food. Like everything else at ottertonmill we believe in celebrating local culture and supporting local producers and our menu reflects this by concentrating on dishes which use the best ingredients fresh from the Devon countryside. Our commitment to local produce and local growers was recognised in the 2004 & 2005 Devon Food Awards. The Mill also appears in many food guides and was specially commended in Rick Stein's 'Local Food Heroes'. Our celebrated Bakery, which prepares the bread and cakes that you can enjoy in the Restaurant, is the only one in Devon to feature in the Guardian's 'Best of British Food Guide'.

Whether you are after a simple snack, a wholesome lunch or a delicious evening meal to accompany one of our music nights, complemented by one of our outstanding wines, you will find that our restaurant is like nowhere else in the area. The imaginative menu changes daily and the food is beautifully cooked and presented by our skilled staff.

Where possible we only use seasonal vegetables and will always try to find organic produce if available. All our eggs are free range and our meat comes from local, naturally fed and reared stock. The
restaurant provides a comfortable and relaxed environment - both inside, and outside in our patio garden.

Lunch Menu - served 11.30am - 3pm

We prepare fresh meals daily. Because these dishes change with the season, demand (and whim!) they are listed separately on boards located in the restaurant. The selection will include options based on fish, meat and vegetarian dishes as well as soups, a variety of pates, open faced tarts and our famous salads.

Examples of meals might include:

Pork, apricot and fresh thyme pie topped with herb pastry
Chicken, coriander & lime mayonnaise served as an open sandwich
Roasted red pepper, fresh basil & South Devon goats cheese tart
Spinach roulade filled with cream cheese, watercress & toasted walnuts
Otterton Mill chowder made with a selection of locally caught fresh fish
Smoked Haddock, florence fennel and fresh dill tart

And we've not even mentioned the desserts!

Otterton Mill Cream Tea
Takes some beating. A pot of tea of your choice (or a cup of coffee or hot chocolate) with two of our famous scones, served with Devon clotted cream and choice of preserve.

Gateaux, Tarts and Sweet Things
A changing daily selection of fresh cream gateaux, tarts and puddings. You have to see the display selection in the Restaurant to get the full picture!

Bakery Cakes
A selection of the bakery's finest cakes and slices

Fresh Fruit Scone
Available with choice of clotted cream and jam, butter and jam or butter

Organic Yoghurt
Available with a dribble of organic honey or Mighty Musili

Local Vanilla Ice Cream
3 scoops of fantastic Rookbeare Farm pure vanilla ice cream

Chunky Bread and Butter
Available with home baked ham, North Devon cheddar, jam, marmalade, honey or just on its own
